Look lively, lad!

The following email tip is so powerful (and can improve your sales

so quickly and easily...) I almost decided not to send it, and save

it for the paid "Email Players' newsletter, instead.

But I'm in a generous mood today.

(Lucky you, eh?)

Anyway, here's the tip:

Last summer "The Dark Knight Rises" movie leaped into theaters.

It's a Batman movie (in case you live in a bat cave).

(NOTE: SPOILER ALERT!!!!!)

And, there's a scene where Bruce Wayne is stuck in a prison where

the only way to escape is climbing a wall and making a jump (with a

rope around his waist so he doesn't plunge to his death) only one

other person has ever made.

And although he has his Batman skillz, he can't do it.

The jump is too far and so he fails and fails and fails.

Until finally, he is told to not bring the rope.

Why?

Because, brute strength isn't enough.

Powerful legs aren't enough.

And, the desire to escape alone isn't enough.

What Brucey boy needs is FEAR.

That fear of dying.

With no rope around his waist for a safety net.

No "do overs" if he fails.

It's either "do"...

OR DIE!

Anyway, it may sound a *tad* dorky as I 'splain it in an email.

But trust me (you know I'm always right...) it's an absolutely

brilliant scene. Especially if you've seen the previous two movies

as they kind of build up to this ONE scene in particular -- with

the accentuation of the themes of Bruce falling into a cave as a

child, overcoming his fear to save Gotham... and now using his fear

to save Gotham... with the same thematic musical score as the first

movie getting steadily louder... while the other prisoners chant

the word "RISE!" (in some obscure language that sounds like it's a

gazillion years old) as they watch Bruce climbing the wall to jump

without the rope, hoping he'll make it and beat the prison that's

taken their hope, freedom and reason to live...

It's pure awesomeness all around, Joker.

The build up of the music.

The amplification of emotion.

The release of tension at what happens...

A cinematic masterpiece in my humble (but accurate) opinion.

OK, nergasm over.

Here's the point:

The principles Bruce draws upon to escape that prison can be

directly applied to email to escape the money-sucking prison 99% of

Internet marketers are in by writing lame, limp-wristed emails

because of gut-wrenching FEAR.

That's all it is, too.

Fear.

Fear of people calling you names.

Fear of what others think about you.

Fear of getting unsubscribes (a truly irrational fear...)

But if you want to beat it, you gotta let that FEAR move you to

action. Let it wash over you like the bats that wash over Bruce

when he discovers his Bat cave in the first movie.

Embrace it.

Use it as a tool to take care of bid'niz.

And not as a crutch that takes *away* bid'niz.

Don't be afraid, Bruce.

You have to BECOME fearless.

You have to STOP caring what other people think.

And, you have to START speaking your mind in emails.

Don't worry about what people think.

Or what they say.

Or what happens if they unsubscribe.

Instead listen to the chanting of the people in your market plagued

with a problem (or burning desire) who are too scared to change

their lives and take the next step to solve whatever problem your

product or service solves... listen to them chant "RISE!!!" as you

write an email that will sell your product to them.

They WANT a solution to their problem.

They NEED it.

And, they will happily PAY you for it.

I mean, they're gonna pay someone eventually, right?

So why not you?

Yes a few will get mad when you write the Settle way.

Some will bitch and moan.

And, many will even unsubscribe and never come back.

Who cares?

You gonna let some "mush cookie" whiners stop you?

As I talked about in the October "Email Players" issue (available

for sale to current "Email Players" subscribers only) I have a note

card taped to my wall in front of my computer that says:

"Grow Some Balls"

It's always staring me in the face.

It's always speaking to me.

And, it's always there telling me to push through any fear I might

have of sending an email that might (gasp!) offend someone because

it's too controversial or whatever. And I use that fear to send

emails that often make MORE sales than usual.

(Not all the time, but many times).

And you know what?

The few others who do this tell me it's the same with them.

Most people play it safe.

Worry about what the masses think.

And, thus, never say anything worth saying.

(Which means making way fewer sales...)

But here's the thing:

If you're going to roll with me and my Email Players subscribers,

you have to sac up about these things and bang out controversial

emails that inspire. That wake people up. And, that get people

wanting to change their situations and solve whatever problem your

product or service solves -- with YOU being the only person they

even think about buying from.

Most of your competitors are lurching around like zombies.

Wandering to and fro in the earth.

And doing nothing to stand out from the bleating herd.

By writing emails the way I teach, you get focused.

You become a voice that's not only heard... but obeyed.

And, you help FAR more people than you will otherwise.

Hey, like it or lump it, that's what it's about:

Helping people.

Helping them have better lives.

Helping them have better health.

And, yes, helping them have better peace of mind.

If you want to do this then you may (as my baby boomer friends who

grew up during the 1960's and 70's would say) be "Email Players"

material.

Only one way to find out.

And that's to subscribe.

To let go of your fears.

And, to take that scary leap to escape mediocrity.

The December issue goes to the printer tomorrow.

If you want in you gotta act fast.

After today, it's too late.

Subscribe in time here:

I can already see some "swipe happy" goo-roo fanboy thinking

they can copy it word for word (just changing a few words to fit

their product) because they're "in a hurry" or "lazy".

Well, too bad for them my lawyer is not in a hurry or lazy.

And we're prepping to go after people who have been doing this.

This is one thing copycats *should* fear...
